Found those mittens some time ago at a fleamarket - I wonder if those are the matching ones for the suit?

The pants I have are identical to the ones pictured above. They are not french, material used, buckles, construction are indicative of german manufacture.

Sure.. here you go http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=259352 - even though its no new info.

As in one of the last comments, the leg flaps did also bother me
First time i saw these trousers i thought they could be intended for dispatch rider use.

I wanna see the backside of the bottom of the trousers in close up

I'm curious about Gran Sassos mittens

                                Eric,
                                Nice pair !!

                                Scott,
Eric's pair were listed as 'Wehrmacht Winterhose' on Weitze.
Are they the pants you described in the first part of the quote (below)?

And the pants with the diamond winter pattern, are like the one in post #12 ?

I have a period photo attributed to SS mountain troops which I can post, interesting in that it shows the WHITE side in use, which shows a distinct diamond pattern quilting. Construction of these is imo not from some other allied country, but german
