If I'm not wrong this picture was taken when the Wallonie was transfered from the Heer to the W-SS, maybe they were not already allowed to wear the tabs (before taking oath ?)

Of interest:

In the 1st picture:
the little rectangular pin worn above the Walloon Rexist "Blood Order" (circular) breast badge
is a Rex "Badge of Honor" , a small pin awarded to Wallon Rex party members
who were arrested by the Belgium authorities during the German invasion of May 10th 1940.
(only about 300 were awarded)
The all leather MP40 pouches are shown a lot in Walloon images!

In the 2nd picture:
besides lacking tabs, note Heer buckles still being worn here, and single (resin) button SS M43 caps!

Here is another image. I think this was the 'first day of work' for some of these guys. They arrive at camp in civvies, get a haricut, admire each other in uniform, training exercies, etc.
