      Hi,

yes, the videos made by Jo Rivett confirm that those ugly badges are fantasy (please notice that your good pictures already show the incredibly bad quality of the metal casting).
The "rivets" on the back are indeed even fake.

      See You

The badges may be bad, but they aren't fantasies. They were manufacturered for civilian members of the field army employed in Norway, Belgium and France. Jim

Is the belgian/french type the only fantasy piece, or does this count for all of these badge versions? So also the Norwegian one for example? Let me know.

          Kind regards,

          AW

            This is an original.

There were three military administrative ID badges for civilian workers for the German military; Begium/Northern France, Norway, and after November 1942, when the German's occupied the rest of France, for the French failure to oppose Operation Torch, a badge for all of France.

I have looked at Rivett's videos, and yes some of these have been faked. I own all three, and in my opinion the badge posted is an original.

Contrary to most opinions, these are not fantasy badges in the first place.

If they were really being faked, where are all the others?

Cannot upload pictures now due to the forum problems, so here is a link to a very old thread....

I agree these badges are fakes.
They are all cast and cast in a bad way.
If you look at them with a microscope you can clearly see everything.

                My books:

                - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
                - THE SS TK RING
                - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
                - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE

Well Antonio I don't happen to agree.

The fact that they were cast and not die struck is obvious to anyone with a decent pair of eyes but so too were the Gendarmerie Alpinist/ Hochalpinist badges made by Souval in 1930s and 1940s and no-one has a problem with those.

Clearly collectors will also question the so-called "rivets" on the reverse, but if these were meant to be rivets then surely there would have been three of them, not two.

My own badge purchased by me in 1971 is shown on the thread which Ron posted.I still have it in my collection despite the naysayers.

I know that Gary, Ron and I are in a minority but these badges shouldn't be condemned just because they are cast.

I don't think that collectors dispute the fact that these badges existed because they have been seen being worn in period photographs.

Additionally, one turned up pinned to a British army nurse's cape on a recent TV showing of "Antique Roadshow".

If you compare the size of the "Militaer-Verwaltung" badge to the army cockade on the cape, you will notice that it is smaller.

This proves that it is the"Belgian u. N Frankreich" version which measures 30mm in height and not the "Frankreich" version which would be the same height as the cockade at 40mm.

It also has slimmer wings than the "Frankreich" eagle.

The badges shown below are from my own collection and did not come from the nurse's cape.
