My first LW Ground Assault Badge

    Hi,
today arrived my first LW Ground Assault Badge with document from Mr. Bendixen. The Badge itself is a zinc piece with Tombak eagle attached. The document has a late date and i think the recipient was in an interesting unit. Hope you like it
    Best Regards,
    Alex

            good catch Alex

it's a very nice late war LW GAB example. The finish is still remaining there. We can see some late war LWGAB lately and most of them with good finish, but yours is the best up to now

                    Hi Alex,

I can only agree that you have a nice genuine example (and doc) there - congratulations!

Indy, I disagree that this is a late war type though. I've seen one of these in a grouping from 1942. This type is one of the few with a tombak eagle - even 3-rivet RK and MuK5 examples, which are considered "early", have zinc eagles.

As far as I know, the maker remains unknown, although sooner or later someone will find an Osang marked example I'm sure

                    Regards
