Need help with a little pin I found yesterday!

    Hi guys,

Yesterday I was doing some cleaning and in a box I found a little nice looking pin.
I really don't know where I've gotten it from, probably from my father.
He used to own a auction company and used to give me alot of pins and cheap militaria that he came across.

The pin says: "2. Verbandsturnfelt Aullig 7.-11. Heueris 1927"
Well,at least I think thats what it says

The pin has a maker mark on the back "Pfeiffer".

Any help with this badge/pin/tinnie would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

        Hi David,
That style of swaz is usually associated with the Turnerbund society which is an athletic society from the early part of the 20th century. That's a nice tinnie and I hope this helps.

Thanks alot Jeremiah,I really appreciate it!

So,does this has anything to do with the nazis at all or was it just used by the Turnerbund because it looks nice?

Does it have any value at all,not looking to sell because I really like the looks of it but it's always nice to know.

          Thanks,
          David

            Hi Dave,
No nazi association with the design the Turnerbund chose. Just seems to be a design from germanic history. As far as value I don't really know. Maybe some of the other members can help you out with that.

              David,
This organization has been around since the late 1890s, your pin is for 2nd Association Gymnastic festival at Aussig: note the way they have incorporated the 4 F's of the Gym. Societies which mean Fresh, Happy, Joyful and Fearless in German into the Nordic rune of the sun wheel which represents Health. As far as I have been able to find out the Turnerverein assoc. has always held strong rightist leanings from it's conception and from the 1930s they did receive support and backing from the Nazi Party. Remember an item or organization from this period in time doesn't always have to display a swastika. As to your tinnies value I would say $30.

Here are a few of my Turnerbund pins as you can see on the first one a not often seen sign of direct association with the Nazi party.

It is my opinion that the Turnerbund is responsible for the production some of the highest quality and better looking tinnies of the time.
