I saw this tunic when it was up for sale and I think there are some problems with it. At the very least, the shoulderboards don't match the rest of the tunic. As far as I know there is no reason why a tunic from Infanterie-Regiment (8. Württembergisches) Nr. 126 would have the cuff and collar Litzen. IR126 also had Brandenburg cuffs piped in blue, not the Swedish cuffs that this one has. The boards also don't match the interior markings, but I couldn't tell you what unit the tunic is marked to. Hopefully some of the experts on dunkelblau chime in on this, I'm still learning as well.

This tunic has a few minor problems. The marks on the inside are more typical of issue tunics. If it was a private purchase with these markings, it should also have a mark of some kind indicating that it is a privately owned tunic. The red lining is unusual. It might be OK, but I would inspect the sewing.

Some of the buttons are replaced. The straps are wrong. The only unit that would have worn this combination of Swedish cuffs with yellow Litzen and brass buttons was the Haupt-Kadettenanstalt in Berlin. This conveniently matches the issue mark on the inside, so I think we have a match! This tunic should have plain white shoulder straps.

The condition is good, so if you like cadet uniforms and can find the correct shoulder straps, you have a nice tunic.

              Regards,
              Chip

Very cool! I was very curious about the unit on this one. Nice work Chip. I found some contemporary artwork of an NCO of the HKA wearing one of these.
