    Black (and Blue) is Beautiful....

Well, we know where the Veterans visor rates on this forum--literally at the bottom! I voted in my own poll, but didn't make my personal preference known--I love these immediate pre-war caps. This one is for the NS-Reichskriegerbund, and is their top level of cap offered. See if you can guess the maker:

The wreath and Adler match perfectly--they both have a high nickel content, and are not the typical bare aluminum:

Adler has the typical Maltese Cross enameled onto the eagle. Note that these RKB eagles are similar to, but different from, the Soldatenbund visors:

Chinstrap is leather, and the wool a near-doeskin:

Other side--this one is as well-peaked as any WH visor of the era, and is just as well-padded:

For you swastika junkies out there, no hat of the TR period has more swaz's on it than an RKB--there are 6 on the band, one on the eagle, and one in the s/s:

Classic ribbed lining--unlike most of these caps, the RKB tag is under the lining--you can just barely see it peeking out. Note the red grease-pencil mark ( "VII" for 57 on the lining):

Under the hood--sponge is still soft and springy:

The 8th Swastika on the hat--the RKB symbol. The man's name appears to be Grotthenthaler of Weissenau?:

In case you haven't guessed it yet, it is made by my favorite maker, Pekuro. I can't believe that I am the only "closet collector" of these hats (& I have another, which I will post later)--lets see your veterans hats!
