Nice photo Nordi! Surely they were brothers?

PS: My photo shows Friedrich-Wilhelm Neumann (later he was General). He was the last IR17 commander in peace and the first commander in war.

A rare photo! I needed some time to find a nice photo with the Schwedter Adler. But your photo shows two different tradition badges in wear!

                    Thanks for showing us!

Here's one from me. Not sure whether it's Inf. Rgt. 17 or Kav. Rgt. 5.
I have blown up the collar tab, can anyone make out what's on it? Looks like a "17" but not sure.

After ww1 the Brunswick skull was used by IR17 and RR13 (KR13). The other cavalry soldiers (Reiter Regiment 5) used the Prussia skull. Then all soldiers with tradtion skulls should use the Prussia skull pattern, but not all soldiers changed the skull. That is the reason why you can find the Brunswick skull in later taken photos, too.

PS: IR17 and RR13 used also the Imperial issued skull!

Could be good, but it will probably never be able to say for sure!

                              Regards Nordi,
