Here is my single button Heer hat, that was a hotel vet buy via Bob Iqbal.
this one, however, I believe to have been made by a field tailor.

Thanks everyone for responding. After a slow start I finally think I have the answer I was looking for.I was hoping it was a Heer single button but its obvious now its a OT cap. I think RAD and OT used similar styles and theres no mistaking the similarity between the RAD hats and mine. Correct me if I'm wrong are Field Grey OT/RAD caps uncommon? I certainly haven't seen any contemporary photos on dealers sites etc.

The info on the single button M43s is great. I know they were worn, period pics prove that. Of course real examples are as hard to find as M43s with the button closures going in the opposite direction.

      Great stuff and thanks.
