Visor Cap for an obscure Luft organization

Thought the group would like to see a visor cap for the SEEFLIEGERHORSTFLUGSICHERUNG a relatively obscure Luftwaffe organization that oversaw the FLUGSICHERUNGSSCHIFFIE and the SEENOTDIENST. As I understand it this group were uniformed civilian personnel charged with air-sea rescue and costal patrolling. This hat appears never to have been issued or worn and never had it's chinstrap.

A very neat and rarely seen cap, Garth. Because of the sea-going
nature of these units, the cap is water resistant! That explains the
absence of a conventional lining. The cap would dry out much quicker
        this way.

Is the top removeable on this one? There were also white tops.

Hello Garth. Very interesting cap you have there, I don't recall ever seeing one of these. Was this a dealer purchase or a vet find?

Noticed that you are a Tennessee boy. What part of the state are you in? I live just east of Nashville.

            Cheers.

I got the cap from a old guy who runs a pawn shop in Jackson, TN. He is about the only buyer of militaria in that area and always calls me when he gets things in. Usually pretty common stuff but every once in awhile he gets a winner. I live in ole' Mempho, known for Elvis and not much more.
