Well, the DAF "Fest" thread went over like a "Led Zeppelin", so I can't really do any worse with this thread. As most of you know, I am a fan of TR Haberdashery, and do not collect by organisation. After getting over a 28-year case of Wehrmacht-itis 2 years ago, I have learned to appreciate other headgear, and the Kyffhauserbund (DKB) visor is no exception. They are all pre-war quality, as the organisation was absorbed (along with the Soldatenbund) into the Reichskriegerbund (DRKB) in 1939.

These hats are almost always made of a premium dark-blue doeskin wool:

This is actually a transitional visor, in that it has an RKB eagle. (The standard 2nd style used a cockade.) This is simply the result of a thrifty veteran merely exercising the "wear-out" period for these caps. Oddly enough, there never was a cockade on this one:

On most DKB visors, unlike the RKB visors, the Kyffhauser Monument is on either side of the wreath--on the RKB, Swastikas are on either side:

For you Swastika aficionados, you get eight (8) swaz's on these visors:

The DKB eagle is based on the Soldatenbund eagle, but less elongated. It allegedly took them 6 months to come up with this design:

This is the 2nd DKB wreath. The first type utilized a woven Kyffhauser monument on an maltese-cross flag w/o a swaz.
