Hope I have this right, it was in an envelope marked SS Armband. Please have a look and give me your opinions.

Note about color: I take all my pictures on the same background, but there are slight differences in the red from one shot to the next.

          NO REPLIES?

Can anyone translate it for me?

I did get an answer via email from a website devoted to WWII German Cuff Titles, but no one from here has contacted me about this.

            Hi Gil,

Definitely not SS and not military. A loose translation would be "Reich's Auto Team Germany" - perhaps something used by a civilian motorsport organization?

              Thanks Mike.

I'm gettin the impression it might even be post war East German.

                    Gil,

a quick Google search on "Reichsautozug Deutschland" pulls up several links to a book by Horst Hinrichsen, "Reichsautozug Deutschland und Hilfszug Bayern". (for sale at Amazon Germany)

From what little information I found, it appears these had nothing to do with trains, but were some type of truck convoys travelling ahead of propaganda events and preparing said events.

                    Quoted from http://www.acmi.net.au/AIC/PHONO_KITTLER_3.html:
"In 1936, only the unique 'Reichsautozug Deutschland', a motorcade consisting of eighty vehicles, was able to broadcast party congresses and mass rallies without any local help by setting up speaker systems on a giant scale, erecting stands, and so on."

So it appears this cuff title may be Third Reich related after all, possibly worn by the teamsters from this motorcade
