Next up, an officer model with silver braid. It seems there is some discrepancy on exactly what these were used for. General officers, admin officers?

Notice on my example that the braiding is sewn down into the seam. It is RBN# "0678" (the same as the EM model above) and is made from ribbed cotton material.

The construction of the silver braided example above differs considerably from the 2 with silver braid found on this thread, where the braid is NOT sewn down into the seam, and the material is the smooth "doe skin" variety:

The next hat for review is the officer model with the yellow or gold braid. This examples does have the doe skin type material, the braid is not into the seam and it is marked identical to the hats found on the thread referenced above.
Thus, it would seem that whoever made the "BAW" marked hats did not sew the braiding into the seam, but the other makers did.

Here is a KM officer hat with yellow braid, where the braid is sewn into the seam. Not BAW marked, but RBN'd identical to the other hats on this thread.

The Paris made hat is a bit odd. It has the doe skin type material on its base, but has the ribbed material on its bill! It also uses 2 different styles of grommets.
