    A Few B of B Luftwaffe Items

    Hi,
please see photos below, of a small display that I put on today, at the Quainton Railways 1940's weekend.
    Main items are,
Rear Fuselage section from a He111, shot down and crashed at Longmoor Farm, Gillingham.
Propeller blade from Me109, Turzes Farm, Burwash.
Large engine part from Me110 at Noaks Hill, Billericay.
Swastika from the tail section of a Me110, this was removed from the aircraft scrap yard, at the Cowley works, Oxford.
    Parachute housing/cone from parachute mine.
Various other small items picked up locally, some I think having been liberated also from the aircraft scrap yard at the Cowley works in Oxford.
    Regards
    Gary

Great display, I especially am impressed by the bullet hole riddled tail part.

I would like to get a tail cut out swastika as well.

            Cheers,

Hi, the desert Me109, is a 1970's metal Dinky toy, and I can remember buying it new while on holiday in 1975/76 !

Great to see you displaying these great Luftwaffe relics in public.

As I tried to explain on a recent thread, us British tend to go way overboard about the RAF in the BoB, especialy in the media. The Luftwaffe barely gets a mention but their pilots and aircrew were equaly extraordinarily brave young men.

                            Luftwaffe BoB

Hi Gary, Great collection! you have some realy nice Luft stuff there! Must have taken ages to track down. I also collect Luftwaffe BoB items when I can. It's funny to see we read the same books "German Bombers over England" and the Bible for BoB collectors "Battle of Britain Then and Now". Have you got a copy of "Battle over Britain" by Francis K.Mason as this is also a superb reference book.

Looks like his Luftwaffe aircraft artifacts are bullet-holed, too! A man after my own heart.
