    Carl Bulow mark

I thought this was quite interesting.

I just pulled this photo off of someone's ebay auction - it shows a manufacturer's mark for "Carl Bulow & Sohn" of Podejuch (now part of Poland).

The name rang a bell, so I went back through photos of my former collection, and found the same man distributing Erel caps.

Interesting, that is the first time I saw that distributor. Great looking Erel by the way.

My first thought was that the marking "Carl Bulow & Sohn" of Podejuch was a larger tailor shop or uniform store, likely a combination of both.

The shop must have done a good deal of business to have 'runs' of caps of differing qualities embossed with the company name. I don't recall ever owning a visor showing this name.
          Regards,
          Dave

Thanks - it WAS a nice cap; I sold it to a collector several months ago in California. I had really wanted to hold on to it, as one of my few remaining caps, but I'd sunk all that money into the Erel W-SS General's cap, and I'm still holding the Erel Heer General's cap and the Paul Kaps Heer General's cap. So, something had to go....

Here's another shot of the Bulow distributed cap:

Here are some images of other Erel distributors I've picked up along the way (either from my collection or poached off the internet (sorry if it was yours!):

                            Hallo

                            Just some information about
From the Stettiner adressbuch it appears that the "B******252;low u. Sohn Uniformen" shop was located in Bahnhofstrasse 34, Podejuch (now Metalowa, Podjuchy in Poland). Probably he had many Heer customers, because in the same town (and close by the shop) were stationed two pioneer's battalions ( 2 and 42 ). This matches the black piping of Lignemaginot !
I hope this will be helpful
                            Best regards. enorepap

I'm getting rusty--the font for "Sonderklasse" on the Bulow hat is peculiar to a certain maker--does anyone know which one?
