The Wehrpass indicates Willi Lange enlisted in the Wehrmacht in 1936. He was in Denmark, France and Russia - Charkow. His units were the IR 469 (up to 1943) and the Panzerregiment 15 & 35 (1943-1945). His time with the Panzerregiments he was also an infantryman (on foot) pushing toward Moscow. The entry into the Wehrpass for his infantry assualt badge doesn't designate whether it was a bronze or silver, but the badge definately has evidence of being a silver, a foot soldier.

Yes, thank you Chet, it was nice for once to have something more than just a piece of a group as a medal or badge, now I have actual history for a particular soldier that will always stay together and be preserved for many years to come.

      Thanks,
      Robert

Here's the cross I started the thread with. Look at the little 'lines' in the swasi, like layout lines to the designer...same on both crosses...same cross...

More confirmation of a true '86'

Good observation and way to tell what you are dealing with........perhaps an interest to those who have an unmarked cross or two in their collection.

                      Hi Robert,

There are only four "Paulmann & Crone" packets ever made

                      Cheers, Thomas
