    BWB packet.....spelling???

    Hi all,
I have this black wound packet that is marked to reverse Oberhoff & Cie Lüdenscheid, isn't it meant to be Overhoff & Cie? Is this a well known "spelling mistake"??

    Many thanks in advance!

        Hi Dave,

I can't say I've ever seen the likes of this type of designation on the packet.

It's some what odd to me that the word 'abzeichen' should be so pronounced and spaced out.......it only means 'badge' after all, that concerns me ?????

I can't says it's fake, because I don't know either way. Spelling mistakes in makers names is common, but it's the odd letter here and there normaly.

I haven't got my thinking cap on this evening, this is one I'd like in my hands to to judge.

No idea about that mate,I haven't got another to compare it to. Has anyone got a wound badge packet they could possibly post a pic of?

          Cheers

Here's a couple of mine, these are the most frequently encountered examples then the LDO packets with ink stamps on of either the designation which is very small and stamped on post packet production or just a little stamped LDO number......there the most common types.

There are however variations of course, some attributed to one award maker it seems only and a multitude of other reasons and minor variations.

This is a first for me like yours in all the variations I've got or seen of which there are numerous sorts.

You could have a nice little rareity there packet wise ? Nothing strikes as fake really, it's just the word 'badge' being spaced etc....strange. but there are some weird packets out there, esp in spange and EK packets, so why not a wound badge packet.

The address mistake, I wouldn't get to concerned over that....if there were really other potential dubious signs things would probably begin to add up.....but I can't say on this one.

Not much help today I'm afraid Dave.

Cheers for trying though Marcus! Hmm it would be nice if it was a scarce variation,I seem to be doing all right on variations this week!

              Anyone got a Overhoff/Oberhoff packet?

Dave just a note, if someone does have a Blah packet, if yous dosen't prescribe to theirs, whether it be a WB packet or other don't assume it's a fake straight away.

I'm pretty sure it's ok but we will see........hopefully!
I have had a quick search on dealers sites and I can't find another WB packet with the spaced abzeichen lettering and I also can't find an Overhoff/Oberhoff
                  Cheers
