    Bronze M.K.1 IAB

    Hi Guys!

I was set up at a show this past weekend and picked up a few goodies. One item in particular though I need to find some info on. I've seen plenty of silver IABs marked M.K.1 but never any in bronze. Well, guess what, a near mint bronzed M.K.1 walked in the door on Saturday. Any ideas as to whether it's as common as it's silver brother or not? Any guess on who M.K.1 is? Is it possible the M.K. series badges were produced by the A.G.M.u.K. conglomeration?
    Best regards,

    Tony

    Dear Tony,

I have no answer to your questions but would love to see that badge.

    Cheers, Frank H.

As soon as I can get my hands back on the 'work' camera I will take pix of it.
      Best regards,

I do not know what company or conglomeration of companies made the IAB "M.K." series but I suspect they were turned out by one company. So far I have obtained examples marked M.K.1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7. I am confident one marked M.K.5 is lurking out there some where.

I do have 2 Bronze examples, both marked M.K.1. Why the Bronze ones are scarce may be due to a number of reasons. One, fewer may have been produced. Two, the Bronze finish may not have been a very persistent one which does not hold up well over time, leaving one with a basic grey zinc badge.

Here's pix of the badge. Sorry they're not that good but I just don't have photograpic skills worth a damn. It looks 1000% better in person.

Hi Guys. What is your opinion on this MK1 in silver? Notice how different the mark is from the bronze IAB.

                    Hi Lorenzo;

First off, what type of camera do you use for your photos? Mine takes absolutely crappy pictures! Perhaps it's the photographer?!?! Anyway, I see slight differences in the MM but it doesn't alarm me anymore than the two types of RSS MM's I've seen or various other variant MM's out there.

Please compare AS and MK1 badges. They are very close

                          Hi Guy's,

Good point Sergey I also noticed the similarities between the M.K. marked badges in general and the A. Scholze IAB.

Lorenzo you own a couple of MK marked IAB's and also an AS if I'm not mistaken. What is your conclusion when you compare them are they realy exactly the same and if this is the case what could have been the link between AS en MK. I also thought that untill now we realy didn't know what these different M.K. marks were standing for is that correct?

They look very similar, but there are differences. First, note how the rifle is not
cut-out where it meets the wreath.

Also notice that the hinge crimp-plate is a different type and are located slightly
                              differently.

Also notice that the AS is much more "scooped", most noticeably around the rifle.
