I bought this package with an EKII marked 27 for Anton Schenkls. Are they both from the same family and how uncommon is this package?

I disagree on the rarity. This maker EK2 was found in huge quantities after the war and were sold by Ken Lane, among others. I bought many of these for $2.50 each and sold them as "surfer" crosses for $5.00 (minus the ribbon and envelope) to high school classmates. Only problem is that the top of the envelopes were always cut off to remove the maker logo. I was thrilled last year to find one of these with the flap and maker's name intact.
So I think this is one the nicest and most desirable envelope types to find intact.

Anton and Maria are connected by family I believe yes. The blue sorts are even harder to attain and they always seem to be 9 times out of 10 in a poor state, tatty and faded.
