Opinions please on M44 breast eagle

Hello, I would appreciate any comments on the originality of this breast eagle which is sewn on a very late M44 tunic This eagle has a smooth, synthetic feel that is different from my other BEVo insignia but I wonder if this might reflect late war use of synthetic fibers (Perlon). Or is it a known fake? I would appreciate any opinions.

This might be a little better quality photo, but it was taken with artificial lighting. The color in the first photo is much closer to the actual color of the eagle.
