    Luftwaffe Sidecaps

Since we have a thread devoted to 43s, I thought a sidecap thread would be a good reference as well.

I'll begin with this officer's upgrade. This cap is shown in Angolia's Luftwaffe, volume one. It is credited to someone else in the book, but it is my cap and my photography.

Stampings. The interior of this cap shows heavy sweat staining. The cap was well worn.

here are two sidecaps from my collection...
First is an EM/NCO visor cap, there is a manufacturer stamp in it,but it******180;s very hard to see,the pictures are not that good.....

And the second one,an EM/NCO Mechanics******180;side cap made of black HBT material, this material faded easy because of sunlight, this is normal for this kind of material.
On this type of sidecap only the luft.eagle was worn,no national cockade.

              Regards,

              Theo

                Tropical sidecap

Here is a sweat stained salty tropical version. The ink stamp is extremely faded though the date 1941 is barely visible as well as the size, 59. It has seen a lot of use in a hot climate.
