To me the eagle looks replaced or added, eagle shows some dirt, shirt is clean.

I've seen this particular type of shirt couple of times and for some reason they wouldn't be for my collection.

          Jos.

I think the shirt Jos & Pierre are referring to is the one which is on the Weitze update from yesterday. This shirt was sold on Weitze to a forum member here a few months back and was posted here (here is the link...post #10 http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=446581 ) - it was obviously returned then to be relisted for sale again.

One other point of difference between the blaumelliert and the plain grey shirts is that the melliert type (all the ones I have seen anyway) has white bakelite/plastic buttons, whereas the grey type has blue glass buttons

Examination showed 2 parallel rows of stitch marks around the outline of where the original eagle was attached...so opted for the VVVVVVV stitch pattern in attaching the bird, following the original stitch marks.....

Here are my only 2 shirts. I think they came in a variety of colors as you can see by the variety of boards...one shirt is late and the other is dated '37 but the collars are later.

Great job on this shirt Harry. Compared with the shirt on Weitze's website it is night and day.

                                Thanks!

....I normally would not restore period items..but seeing as the chances of finding one of these intact is practically zero, and seeing as I already had original buttons/thread/eagle/boards, I thought it made sense to restore it to its original configuration.
