    Lp42

    Hi all,

Just wanted to show my LP42.
Can anyone show the holster that goes with these ?
I understand these holsters are pretty scarce, unlike the LP's.

    Greets,
    Kris

Nice, I have one as well. I was told (and there are experts on the board who can confirm or deny this) that for this particular later war stamped piece, no holster was issued. Rather it hung off equipment. Thanks for showing, take care,
      Joe

I agree with you Joe I do not believe that an 'official' holster was issued with the LP 42. I have seen the odd field made one on dealers lists, but tend to avoid that type. Nice pistol I had one from Normandy but had to scrap it in the UK Gun Ban of a few years ago.

            Kris,

Nice rig you have there. The LP42 is a very interesting Flare gun. I have an EUH marked rig in my collection. Does yours have the "laminated" hammer?. The hammer on my rig is solid.
From what i have been told the LP42 was never issued with a holster but the earliers flalare gun holster will work and was used as such in the field.

The LP42 is fun to collect as you can see some real interesting diffrences in construction and build quality.

Here is a Pic of my holster...sorry for the craptacular pic

                  Hi guys,

Thanks for the feedback ont he lp and the holster question.
                  I didn't know that.

@ whsammler: mine is like the one on the right on your pictures; 4 pieces of sheet material.
I think these are of a date than the solid ones ?
Mine also has a rather low s/n. 4 digits but maube they started renumbering.

AFAIK 'WA' and 'EUH' were the only makers of this LP42.
I also think it's a nice LP to collect.

                  Happy holidays

I collect these late war LP as well and have always found them interesting. According to Wolfgang Kern's fine reference these were maufactured by codes wa, euh, de, qyn, and sww. The sww code is thought to be the late war replacement code for euh. Speaking of the field made holsters I have a LP42 that came in a holster made from a gas cape pouch. Really like the laminated hammer variation which I did not even know existed. Neatest one of these I ever saw was the long barrel version that a fellow BCN member picked up in early 2005.

                              G'day all,
Please stick your LP42 in the earlier holster and settle the debate as to wether or not it does work.I have heard both sides of the coin to this but I have never had an early holster to try it.As to these web holsters for the LP42,I have seen this one before, however I seriously doubt they are German wartime.Flare guns were a common used item, pictures of their use are plentiful.Pics of the early holster are also plentiful, however no pics of a web LP42 one anywhere, normally they are passed through equipt. straps. The early ones are available pretty much everywhere but not so these.I know it dosn't mean they wern't made but I doubt it.
                              Cheers,Paul.
