Looks like an original German jacket with a replaced American zipper. Can't say if the insignia is original or not, but it looks cool.

Thanks my friend for the fast reply => howmuch is one expected to pay for such a jacket ?, I guess also that the shoulder boards are replaced, etc .... but it looks quite attractive and as Im into Glider stuff now it might be good addition for my humble collection

I'll go with Gene on this one. The zipper is not original issue. It's one of the pieces that make or break the jacket. Most leather jackets were private purchase and were produced long after the war. You really need to pay attention to whether the effects (eagle, shoulderboards, etc) look to be as well aged as the rest of the jacket. Value, hard to say, the replaced zipper is a big turn-off to an avid flight collector.

Hello Stijn, does this jacket have slash type pockets on both sides? There is a possibility this jacket is a cut down/shortened step-in overall which may account for the replaced zipper. Both the Luft and Kriegsmarine had a variety of that type wear. Also many of the truly used leather flight jackets have leather wear on the back right lower sleeve near the cuff from "stick" use.
