    IAB Opinion Maker?

    Hi all,
Please take a look at this piece. Opinions or comments appreciated.
Who manufactured this badge in bronze? This is the heavy solid type.
    Thanks,
    John

      Hi John,

Looks like an early, and heavy high quality IAB to me but I can't help you with the maker.

Nice loking badge John. Still lots of finish on it. I also can´t help you with the maker but a good pic of the eagles face and body might help.

          Hi John!
          Nice badge I should say.
This IAB is produced by Funcke & Brüninghaus.
I have several badges of this kind, but I have never seen in bronze.

                  Very good Roman

The more I look at John's IAB the more I get the impression that this could be a buntmetall IAB.

John if the badge shows wear to the high spot could you tell us te color of the material underneath the finish?

                    Hello Gentlemen,

The IAB that John posted is not buntmetal.

                    - look at the finish on the was startinhg to bubble ever so slightley

                    - I would also look at the hardware , both are set up on plates, typical of zinc pieces , BUT, not always the case. As thier are some makers that incorporaed the hardware into piece, so no reveal would be exist.

                    Best,
                    JD

OOPS. sorry need some pics of the eagles as well, before I cast my vote.

                      Hi Roman,

Your badge is an original one but the obverse is repainted.

                      Cheers, Frank

Here's where the pin has penetrated the metal. It's fairly bright silver in color..
                              Hope these pictures help.
