    Kurland medal

Hello guys, may I have your opinions about this Kurland medal? It was offered on ebay some days ago, I'm not familiar with the details of this medal but the overall look is promising I think...

        IMO a good one!

very nice example. The Oertel, Berlin mark is particularly crisp which I like. The fakes always lack this detail.
I bid on it up to 180 Euros. I think it eventually went for 191 Euros.

            Thanks for the comments guys!

I have looked everywhere for references, seems not so many photos of Kurland medal available on internet. However there are two examples I have found showing slight difference in some details.

The front of another Kurland medal from a well known Freikorps medal bar with the same details showing in post#2.

Another example with minor difference, for instance 'D' five o'clock.

I wonder if this medal came in different variants

Does anyone have an authentic example? please show yours. Thanks.

The medal was only struck by Oertel, Berlin and as far as I know, there are no variants.

Have received the medal today, it looks just amazing in hand
The Oertel Berlin mark is extremely fine, hard to read without a magnifier.
One thing I have noticed, the letter 'D' has a very tiny opening at its top left corner, it can only be seen when the light is applied from specific angle.

The "D" is supposed to have an opening. That's a characteristic of the font. But on some medals, it isn't noticeable. But, the one you got is quite an excellent strike and the details are extremely clear. Congratulations.
