KRIEGSMARINE Please post your pictures here of Uboats showing their ships bell. Most of the time you will find them on pictures of the commissioning ceremony (Indienststellung). Early types have eagle and U boat number, latter ones seems to have no engraving at all. Any information about regulations and use on boeard would be highly appreciated too! Thanks for posting!

Kriegsmarine Admiral Hipper Bell
Spendid bell presented in a Memorial in Germany, not a U Boat this time. Please take a sharp look at the rings, 2 rings at the top, 3 rings at the bottom. Is it possible to identify it's manufactor by these rings, does it has any meaning? There is not a lot written about german ship bells so any documentation is very much appreciated.

Unknown Kriegsmarine ships bell
Thanks for the info Buff. Here a picture of an unknown ships bell. It is definitely a Kriegsmarine, comes from Wilhelmshaven. Look at the 2 rings at bottom and top, just compare them with the rings on the Admiral Hippers bell. Same manufactor? This bell is quite smaller compared to the large Hipper one!Attached Files
