    Ludwig.........???

Wait, see if this member responds. He has a real passion for these awards and several examples.

I think this one looks promising though.

I don't like it- should be tightly woven in yellow thread not gold. Also rope circle is misshapen. Crappy sewing to tunic also.

        Agree

Certainly Ludwig's opinion will be most useful to you but I also agree with Patrick in that I don't like the looks of this one compared to others I have seen. The areas of problem for me are the color of the thread, the rope is thin and irregular, and the details of the sword are not very good. On the few good ones I have seen the thread runs in different directions so that the sword hilt seems better detailed and the central ridge of the sword blade is better defined and straighter than the one shown here. Is this a post war issue rather than an all out fake? That I don't know. I have been told by others that since there was never a swastika in the design that the badges were issued post war with the same basic design as the war time badge but just not as high a quality. Whether that is true or not I can not say for sure. Unless Ludwig gives his approval I would tend to pass on this one as a war time award.

Sorry but that KdK badge doesn't look good to me, material/form-model.

Does not look good to me either, even if it was it is probably a "put together" would never be attached to the uniform in that manner, would not last two minutes in use.

Wow, huge difference between Ludig's and the initial pices in the thread! No Go!
                      Cheers, Steve

                            Stay away from it!
