Eastern Fronts in good shape with maker mark question

Hello all... I finally have been able to pick up some good condition eastern front medals... The one on the right has a maker mark of "1" Is that supposed to be 100?

    100 = Rudolf Wachtler & Lange Mittweida

    Any thoughts?

    Hi Scott,

Two very nice medals. The '1' is for Deschler & Sohn of Munich.

    Best regards,
    Tom

      Hello Tom!

      Thank you for your help!

Interesting enough it looks like we need to update our own WAF info... This list is missing a few..

            Hi Scott,

Yes! That listing is dated and is at least 12 years old. A more recent listing of East Medal makers can be found in post #10 of the following thread:

            http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=485413

There were certainly at least 50 different manufacturers involved in production of the East Medals.

            Best regards,
            Tom

Thank you Pierce, Nick, and Tom!

Thank you for the info Tom. I guess with over 2 million produced you would need a lot of companies making this one!!

                Thank you, Scott

                    Scott:

If you & the guys who collect & want to know more about the 'Ostmedaille' were to buy Sascha Weber's new book "Die Medaille Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42" you'd have pretty well EVERYTHING you wanted to know in your hands.

Even if the book is in the German language at present, it has a great collection of digital photographs of all the known medals & covers the maker marks as well as, all the little details that helps separate them from each other.

I read very little German but, the book is 'great' for referring to the medal itself & if you're into the "packets" part of it as well, this book covers them with many digital photographs.

This is not a 'book report' guys....I'm just offering you some 'Information' for your thread.

                    Ron.
