Thank you stonemint for the reply! I am in need of a bit of an education. How can you tell an early vs. late visor cap? I assume that early visors are more desirable?

Very nice visor. Yes earlier visors are more desirable. You can look at the fabric type for the top. The liner, type of sweatband, markings of the maker, some cases the visor etc.

I like this cap a lot.

It's in good condition, the shape is great, has a not so common colour lining and the bullion insignia is very attractive. (although I think there might be a little bit missing from the wreath)

You picked a very nice example.

BenVK - Thank you for the reply. I like the look of the cap as well, that is what attracted me to it. I was wondering if a small piece of bullion was missing from where the acorn normally attaches to the wreath. Perhaps it's a characteristic of this maker.

Could be, in hand it should be fairly easy to tell if the embroidery is missing.
It's no big deal if it is I should add.
