Attributed Knights Cross with OL ( Ernst - Eberhard Hell )

Good afternoon gentlemen,

Enjoying the day off, so taking advantage to post something which was long due.
Originally found overseas ( Canada ), it took nearly 8 weeks (!!!) to reach my doorstep . But 100% worth the wait ......

I was oh so fortunate in obtaining yet another real piece of WW1 / WW2 history.
A small group of medals / paperwork belonging to none other then :

General der Artillerie Ernst-Eberhard Hell, Kommandierender General des VII. Armeekorps

A veteran having served in both WW1 and WW2, was captured as POW in 1944, released in 1955 from Russian captivity and sadly passed away at the respectable age of 85 in 1973 .

Instead of copy / paste the various sources I found on him, I'll add the links and give credit to those whom have researched him well before me.

Ernst-Eberhard Hell received the Knights Cross on 01/02/1943 and the Oaks on 04/06/1944.
He was the 1535th recipient of the KC and the 487th recipient of the Oaks.

Technicalities state that the 1957 KC is a magnetic 1st pattern with "800" marked "C" frame.
The OLS are also marked "800" and have the small "o" mark nearby the loop.
The whole comes with matching ribbon and early dome type case.

With the paperwork came this unbelievable original picture of him being awarded the "Eichenlaub".

Already awarded the Oaks on 04/06/1944, Hell received his set personally from the hands of "Der Führer", on 22/06/1944 at the Berghof !!!

Like I said, not too many 1957 awards in the group, besides the KC only this one.

That will cover all the medals, but I'm still working my way through the paperwork which came with it.
Browsing through it, they is a massive amount of information on both Hell and the German campaign 1939-1945 !!!
