    Gravity Knife Repair

    Hi Everyone,

I just picked up a very nice gravity knife but the spring is broken. Does anyone know a reliable person who repairs these?

    Thanks,
    Keith

    Keith:

Here is a photo of my FJ Gravity that has been repaired. It was like that when I got it. Don't know who, when or where it was done.

I did find this info about someone in an old post. As it was from someone else's 2004 post, I cannot personally vouch for this information:

"I have found a gentleman in Warren,Mich that has everthing you need and is not very expensive.Got my knife back today and can,t tell the parts from the original ones and they are guaranteed. He,s a fine fellow and he will treat you right. His email is tb8670@aol.com or phone him at 586-758-7370.Tell him Danny Bowles referred you.Hope this helps someone out there.PS He also buys broken knives.Regards Danny"

If you go with this person, please let us know how it went.

      Gravity Knife Repair

I can vouch for the gentleman from Warren, Michigan who repairs gravity knives. I just received my formerly inoperable non-takedown gravity knife from him today and he did a FANTASTIC job!

He fabricated the thumb lever and spring and I defy anyone to tell them from originals, plus his workmanship is second to none. His name is Tony and he owns his own tool & die shop. He is very knowledgable about these knives as well as other TR edged weapons. He can be reached by phone at (586) 758-7370 or online at tb8670@aol.com Tell him Larry sent you!

        Me too!

Got mine fixed by the same gentleman. Superior work and well worth the price!
I would recommend him on a 4 star sytem as at least a 6!

This is very welcome news as, until now, a broken spring was the "kiss of death" on gravity knives. There were a few people out there who made attempts to fix thehm, but I never saw any repairs of the quality shown here.

Sounds like Tony will be the answer to a lot of folks' prayers.

Thanks to all for sharing this information

Tony is a regular at the Michigan Military and Antique Arms show in Novi, Michigan and does do very good work. It is not cheap to get one fixed. And as Tony will tell almost every gravity knife out there has been repaired at some time and most of them were done by him. Good luck vitts

I will look for his number in the morning I know I have it somewhere

                  Before

I bought this gravity blade for $137. All the springs were broken.
This guy fixed it for me and charged me $220. Total. Postage. Insurance. Total!
Wouldn't take any money until I had it back in my hands. Unbelievable.
I have an untouched , unmessed with G. blade and I compared the 2 when I got it back. I couldn't tell the difference.
There's no sense in showing you the after , because there is no difference between it and the untouched one.

I realize this is quite a few years old, but do you know if Tony still does this kind of work? I reached out through his email, but it looks like it no longer exists. Thanks!
