I noticed this too and thought it was strange. My guess is that it was probably the result of a bidding war gone too far.

I've been after a nice Beamte Visor for a while, saw this and thought "that will do me", couldn't believe the price it went up to.

I was wondering if there was anything special about it that I didn't realise?

Yes. Another shocker was that these fake HJ hats (correctly sold as fakes)
went for $445 and $405 respectively:

Oh how I've been tempted, I love the cap and usually I lprefer worn items like this but it's to go with a beautiful doeskin greatcoat I have so in this instance I need more of a dress cap I'm afraid.

Some nice caps. I can't understand the Beamte visor. I will say that have have found a number of nice/minty LW caps in the $900 to $1100 range over the past few years. This one is just another example. I don't think you have to pay big money to get a nice one. Just my 2 cents.

It seems to me that a lot of items went for very reasonable prices. It appears to be a good time for buyers.
