I have had the best time working on this flag that I recently purchased. I was able to track down one of the 13 signers and it turned out that he wrote several books on his ww2 experiences. I not only have information on each of the signers,/Military exploits, but also pictures of each of them. This gentlemen appears to be one of the last survivors left to pass along the history of this unit. Talking to him, has been an experience that I will always treasure. He and I are working on locating one of his buddies that signed the flag that still may be alive. We have determined that 11 of the 13 have passed away. I hope I can locate his "foxhole buddy"...

To me, these flags have always been the most "iconic" of all GI bring-back items - and I would say, can often be very historically-undervalued by collectors . . .
