    Emil Maurice Grouping

Emil Maurice Was An Early Supporter Of The National Socialist Movement. He Was Party Member #39 And S S Member #2. He Was A Member Of The Stosstruppe And Was Imprisoned With Hitler At Landsberg. One Of The Most Interesting Aspects Of Maurice And His Involvement With National Socialism Is The Fact That He Was Also A Jew.
The Maurice Family Released A Number Of Emil's Personal Possesions Around Five Years Ago. Over The Next Few Days, I Wil Post Some Of The Items From This Grouping. The First Is Maurice's 25mm. GPB

The Stosstruppe Blood Order Badge. In The Grouping, There Is A Letter From Maurice Describing This Badge As The Original Designed Blood Order. During The Period Of Time They Were Being Manufactured By Fuess, Hitler Decided To Redesign The Blood Order In To A Medal And Broaden The Award. Each Badge Was Awarded To A Stosstruppe Member. On The Reverse Is The Name Of The Recipient. I Will Not Show The Reverse Of This Badge Due To The Fact That I Do Not Want To Aid Fakers In Replicating This Rare Badge. According To The Maurice Letter, The Badges Were Awarded But Never Were To Be Worn.

Great badge Bob. One would assume that these were awarded prior to 1934 when the BO medal was first awarded. Would love to know more history on it. What happened to Emil during the war being a Jew?

MAURICE REMAINED A PARTY MEMBER UNTIL THE END OF THE WAR. HE SERVED AS A CITY COUNCILMAN IN MUNICH. FOLLOWING THE WAR, HE WAS INTERRED FOR TWO YEARS FOR DE NAZIFICATION.
HIMMLER WANTED TO HAVE HIM STRIKEN FROM THE ROLES OF THE S S.
HITLER TOLD HIMMLER NO SUCH THING WOULD BE DONE AS HE WAS A PARTY COMRADE AND AN OLD FIGHTER. I WILL POST SOME MORE OF THE GROUPING TOMORROW THAT WILL DEAL WITH PERSONAL GIFTS FROM HITLER AND MAURICE'S RELATIONSHIP WITH GELI RAUBEL, HITLER'S NIECE

Having been priveledged to examine this group, at Bob's. I must say that I think this is the most important political group I have ever seen. The interaction of Maurice and Hitler, as young men after WWI, and that Hitler trusted Maurice as his driver and bodyguard. As the plot thickens, Maurice has twists and turns, but is never abandoned, by Hitler; although lesser men may have done so.

I look forward to the photos and am thrilled that Bob is so graciously sharing this treasure with all of us.

                      Bob,

Absolutely stunning group. I don't think that the Stosstruppe BO badge is shown in any of the reference books.

My God, Bob! You knocked my socks off with this one. I was unaware that any of Maurice's effects had survived. What a great piece of NSDAP history you have managed to acquire. I am glad to know it has gone to a "good home" where it will be properly preserved and appreciated.

The Stosstruppe badge truly is the predecessor of the Blood Order. Very vew collectors will ever be so lucky to have one of these in their collections. A most incredibly rare piece if I do say so myself.

                        Damn!
