bewanek1 I hope i'm wrong if so i apologise for putting your item up for discussion.
But if i'm correct it saves someone making a expensive mistake.
I believe your cap eagle is one that i was caught out with a few years ago,it is very convincing but not quite right.

Last thing i want to do is cause trouble and arguments.
I appreciate all everyone's input so the general consensus it both the cut off and my example are good?. am i correct it thinking both are identical.

I don't consider it "trouble" to raise questions...particularly in an effort to ensure that only authentic pieces are sold on the estand. Moreover, I am proud of my reputation and the last thing I would want is to be involved in the sale of anything fake. So, I welcome discussion.

I bought this piece years ago and have never questioned it. Like others here, I always considered it a one-looker. However, because of this thread, I blacklighted it and it does not glow. I am not sure what else I can tell you.

Not sure about the wool backing it looks like it's a piece of wool carpet and not an original cap cut off just my observation
