    "Waffen-SS General's Cap" on Eban

    Did anyone notice this listing? I am unable to provide a link, but it is item # 250298458630, on the USA site. Starting at $3000, no reserve. I'm not an expert, but it looks shaky to me. If real,isn't this a $20,000 cap?

      C'mon guys, do a forum search--I don't post on those pinned threads just for myself! Its a Janke. This POS has been for sale forever on either Gunbroker or Epier--just can't recall which.

      Here is a non-artificially aged one:

          BTW, the style and font of the fantasy Janke "Faltermeir" logo is based on a real logo--I just can't recall which right now. Enorepap, do you know?

            Hallo Stone

            I have seen the visor which started this discussion and the inner you posted (it appeared some a year ago on eBay, linked together a pz.off.visor with vented cockade); both undoubtedly fakes.

            I have seen only once a real Faltermeier logo and it was finely embossed in silver on the sweatshield and certainly not roughly printed in dark brown. A close inspection of the real one denotes also some very distinctive details in the fonts’style (e.g.: the shaping of the second R). This style and fonts of the logo are quite common in the current production of fake/fantasy visors, but I think that in this case they ares based on the real Faltermeier’s logo (with the above mentioned variations and always connected with some poor attempts to mimic a stirndruckfrei system).

            best regards

              I sent the seller an email Monday, stating that this cap is a well -known fake. No reply

                Enore: found a real one, courtesy of Solo. Faltermeier is just a distributor for Pekuro. Good work, everyone.

                          It is.

                          It is funny, apart from it being total crip, the seller hasn't done his homework. He states it's 75 years old, which puts the shape way out as the 1933 caps were a different shape and grey visors for 1933!

                          I had to laugh at the terrible spelling for this one, known as "ebay speak" where you don't have to have the ability to spell properly. The seller is main land USA however his spelling is more like the Slums of the UK.

                          These are more than basic errors, they are a travesty.

                          You can't believe ebay sellers who don't know how to spell praperly.

                              Bob it's even a better bargain now at $1200. Now the seller is saying it's not a generals hat but it is a original visor cap Here's what he's saying today;

                              OK HERE IS THE DEAL ON THIS VISOR CAP. THE CAP IS ORIGINAL GERMAN WORLD WAR 2 BUT IT IS NOT A ORIGINAL OR AUTHENTIC GERMAN GERERAL'S WAFFEN VISOR CAP BUT IT IS A ORIGINAL VISOR CAP WITH A 1OO% ORIGINAL VISOR CAP EAGLE WITH A NICE REPO SKULL AND A REPO SILVER CHIN CORD. THE CONDITION OF THIS CAP IS VERY GOOD. THERE ARE A FEW MOTH NIPS ON THE FRONT AND ON THE BACKSIDE OF THE CAP. THE PIPING IS SILVER WHICH NOW HAS OXIDIZ INTO A POWERD LIKE MATERIAL. WELL MARKER MARKED ON THE SWEAT SHEILD AND ON THE SWEAT BAND. THE BODY OF THE CAP (MATERIAL) DOLSKIN. THE BIRD AND THE SKULL ARE ALSO IN GREAT CONDITION, BUT I THINK THE SKULL IS NOT AUTHENTIC. BUT THE EAGLE IS 1OO% AUTHENTIC WELL MARKER MARKED.THERE ARE IS ALSO SOME MOTHING TO THE FRONT OF THE BIRD (UNDER BIRD) THE BLACK VELET BAND IS SHOWING SIGNS OF WEAR AND TEAR WHERE THE CHIN CORD WAS AT AT ONE TIME. THIS VISOR CAP IS GARANTEED TO BE 1OO% AUTHENTIC TO THE PERIOD.
