Quick Question about dates on leather tabs?

    Hello,

Just a quick questiion about dates on leather support tabs. I've been offered a beautiful MINT Luftwaffe 1st pattern buckle (crank catch) with a leather support tab that is dated both 1935 & 1936. Buckle and everything looks good, but I was wondering if anyone else has ever encounter a leather support tab that has multiple dates? Any information would be appreciated.

Is there a LBA (Luftwaffe Bekleidungs Amt) mark on the tongue ?

    Regards,

Hi Steve....looks interesting. I wonder if one stamp would be the year the buckle was made and the other stamp referring to when it was issued (to go along with the LBA markings. This is just speculation on my part but thought this to be a feasible hypothesis!

Looks (and sounds) very interesting. Can't wait to see the buckle.

        Cheers

        Rob

At first sight there is absolutly no problem with this tap / buckle. Please post complete picture, these buckles are getting VERY hard to find.

Any makers or unit markings on the belt? the picture is dark and i can't focus enoug becouse of the resolution. I'v not seen this type of belt catch asosiated with such buckle before... Means nothing of course.

                    Hi Marc,

Thanks for the reply. These are the only photographs I received from the potential seller. I have requested better photographs however, I'm more concerned that the buckle with dual dates is good as I don't really collect belts and I have been after a near mint/to mint 1st pattern for a long time.

The buckle / tab is good, no problems with that. I would buy it.
