    Post Your DAF "Fest" Visors!

I agree in advance--these are some of, if not the most common TR visors out there, and also the most slighted. Well, imho, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I have always had a soft-spot for them, and I know I am not the only one, so if you got one, come outta the closet and post away:

These hats usually are all-doeskin with leather sweatbands. This one has the softest, plushest wool I have ever had in a visor--it must have a high angora or cashmere content:

Most have leather chinstraps, but a few have black twisted silk cords. I have never been able to determine why, and if you know, let us know:

Believe it or not, because of this insignia, these hats stand out, and it is one of the first hats I get the question "what is group is this for" from guests (after they get done with the stupid comments I posted in the other thread):

You really don't see the major manufacturers making these--most seem to be small tailoring shops:

Ok, here is the easiest way to tell whether a Fest cap has been converted to a Werkschar visor. (And I am not saying that thrifty Werkscharen members didn't convert their Fest caps upon promotion--it was probably more common than believed). The oakleaves on a Fest are about 3/4 that of the full-sized ones on the Werkschar.

Most importantly, there are no lines on the band of the Werkschar visor:

I don't think Pascal will mind me posting his stonemint one with the leather chinstrap (which is on the e-stand for a reasonable price)--these are hard to find in mint condition:

                      .

                      WoW!

Those are some really nice visors! I don't have one myself but I really like the ones with the metal insignia above my post. Nice!

Unfortunately this guy lost his chinstrap some where along the line, but a very nice cap anyway.
