The photo of this person is a field marshal who got such promotion in 1955( back of this medal). He was the very early follower of Chairman Mao but also got bad treatment during the cultural revolution in China.

All of them are fake and/or fantasy pieces, usually available by less than a dollar each on Ebay.

STEBALIN is right, mostly tourist pieces or to help Chinese sellers increase + feedback (with each other) on ebay. Even Chen was nice enough to help translate it, but these can be bought for a dollar on ebay.

Here is a group of Chinese medals that was recently sold on Ebay, and it includes the medal for Labor in the Korean War in the center of the group. You can see that the original was a very nice enameled award, as were many of the Chinese awards of this period. I think a good rule of thumb for the Chinese awards is that is they look like they were made from dirty copper pennies they are fakes made for the tourists.

hello, you're right. One must bear in mind that early chinese awards, and even those of today are BEAUTIFULLY made. About the 50ies awards, I wouldn't hesitate to compare them in quality to soviet awards. Other poor material pieces are crap.
