    SS decal

This are the only pictures I have for now but I know the helmet is a model 42.
I was told decal is good but just to make sure I would like to get more opinions.

    Thank you

    Giorgio

Looks like a good Pocher but I would be highly suspicious of this being a postwar Pocher on a no decal M42. Unless this is on a drill bit box with a vent (paying homage to a recent GHW thread of just a decal closeup on a drill bit box) I would want to see the entire helmet but I would not be comfortable based on what little is shown as this looks to be as being put together decal and shell.

SSTK you make a great point and I agree. Looks like it could be a good late Pocher (the type sometimes found still on the paper) placed on a ND shell. Original EF M42s have been observed with three decal variants but a Pocher is not one of them.

I'd be very cautious and examine that decal closely forensically. What is the condition of the inside of the helmet(liner, etc)?

Good Pocher on a good EF shell for sure, however when was that decal applied? The condition leaves me concerned that it is a postwar application so I would say like many SS tunics, it should be the sum of the parts, a far cry from a mint single decal M42 - unless there is bulletproof provenance.

                    Just my 2 cents Giorgio.
                    Cheers

That question puzzles me too .

I have zero experience with unapplied decals however. But, is it possible to apply an old decal that neatly?

The decal may have not been 70 years old when it was put on, if fitted post war it may have been in the 50's or 60's. Stranger things have happened. Regards, Bill

Why should this Decal been Post war applied? Can´t recognize anything wrong here
