    Bullion Cloth U Boat Badge Group

    Hi

    Direct from a house clearance. Killer group. Soldbuch entries for Memel, U boat ABZ, and The U Boat Combat Clasp in Silver. The Matt also served on Prinz Eugen . Portrait foto , notice the U Boat badge. Iam picking up 100 pics later, some onboard subs, Eugen etc.

                  This schein is very interesting. Apparently it states he was anti nazi . In one incident it states he was doing some sort of illegal activity and escaped the Gestapo, if I am translating correctly, I think I am though.

                  The interesting thinng is also the schein is from The Communist Party, this town is near me from Cologne. I would think some sort of schein like this would be from the allied occupational forces being The Americans or Brits, not the local Red Party.

                    I am probably showing my ignorance here but when you say "schein" what are you refering to? And yes, that information is extremely interesting! Can you tell if he was just anti Nazi or was he also a communist sympathizer? Where was he after the war, East Germany or West Germany? Grouping is becoming more interesting. Can't wait to hear more.

                      Its not ignorance J, your German is probably better then mine lol.

                      Schein I mean like a pass, I forgot to post the doc.

                      This town is right near me, it is Nord Rhine Westphalia, nowhere near The East.

                        Yes, he was a documented "antifaschist" (they very often couldn´t see the difference between Nationalsozialisten and Faschisten – or perhaps they didn´t want to?!) and this is approved by a local communist organization.

                          Yes, I knew it was some sort of denazification schein, but I usually see these from The US Army, not the local communist party, its weird to me.
