Blauen Division menber pin or...

I'm very pleased to have added this little baby to my collection, member of the Spanish Blauen Division that fought on the Eastern front. The shape of the button isn't really German design and the A would hardly be described as a typical Assman logo. Is it safe to assume this piece was produced in Spain and if so, when did the production start?

My dilemma arised when I looked at abother forum and an image showed a cap badge (not clearly visible), but similar to this, on a Falangist soldier in the Spanish Civil war. So have my assumption been wrong all along?

I´m sorry but I have bad news for you.
First of all, this badges were produced at least in 1950-1960.
They are not specially made for Blue Division members. This is a design for old combatant in Spanish civil war in the Nacionalist army (specially member of fascist party Falange Española). The veterans from Blue Division can use these too, and a lot of Blue Division soldiers, as they were fighting in our civil war, wore them in Russia.
The A (it would be whatever different letter) and the numbers are tipical marks in this maker badges.
In Spain you can buy these for 5-10 euros.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions . And don't worry, when it comes to collecting, bad news are better then no news at all . Although the price was a bit steep, I still think it's a neat little badge.

Hi again Peter.
I was comparing your lapel badge with my references and now I think that it could be made (in Spain of course) before 1950. So it could have been in Russia with a Blue Division soldier (or most probably not). I******180;ve seen this badge in Blue Division members but in cloth, but I******180;m sure that they wore too this small metallic version, most probably with a needle pin. The worth grow up slightly to 10-12 euros.
