Hi, I was wondering if there was any story behind this cuffband? Where did it come from?

      Cheers

        Hi Bart,
I bought an old collection years ago, some of the german items were Belgian made.
There was another "Legion Flandern" cufftitle but in very poor condition. What I also have are Belgian made SS collars and a bullion sleeve eagle.
I will post them later today,
        Cheers,
        Marc

          Never seen it

          Hello there Marc b,

I have never seen this type of Belgian made cuff titles, I myself own an original "german made" Frw. Legion Flandern cuff title, worn and shortened.

Where did you purchase this legion cuff title ?
Was this type made, by any chance, also in Leopoldsburg ??

What did you do with the other cuff title? Are you a collector of Flemish Volunteer material?

          Kind regs

            Hi Flandern,
I think the cufftitle is made in Leopoldsburg, or in Antwerp?
The other cufftitle was in a very poor condition, which I have sold.
I attached a few other Belgian (Leopoldsburg or Antwerp) made items.
There's also a pair of Belgian SS shoulderboards which I have somewhere in my collection. I just have to find some time to make a scan of them.

Belgian made or not but I prefer the German made.

Dear Steiner, you're never to old to learn....

Hi David, I think you've got one from the same maker. The question is if they were made at Leopoldsburg or Antwerp.
                    I know there's also a "Langemarck" version.
I like the one you have!!! A great piece!!!

Never saw a Adolf Hitler of the same family -- Very very nice ct - Must be much rarer than a L.Flandern.

Steiner : imo a German made is just a question of time & money.

                        Belgian Made items

                        Hello Belgian collectors,

Marc B - I noticed your unique officers eagle, where strings have been stretch across the bullion to create the look of seperation between wings. What is your opinion of the attached officer cap eagle, which also uses the same technique. I have displayed it with a normal machine woven sleeve eagle for size comparison. I have had this odd eagle sitting around for a number of years and have received various opinions on it.

                        Thanks,

                        Paul

                          Leopoldsburg or ...

As far as I know, those cuff titles (legion-flandern + leibstandarte) were locally produced in Leopoldsburg. Never heard that they could have been produced in Antwerp ??? Are you perhaps referring to the "Reitz" factories ... but that couldn't be I guess, since it was an "official" german producent and then they would use "german" style off cuff titles? Or am I mistaking?

                            Hi Paulh
Thanks for your reaction. I think the cap eagle you're showing is Belgian made. ( the same for the sleave eagle) For what I know a cap eagle is more rare as a sleeve eagle. I like both of them!

                              Flandern,
I think you're right about Reitz, but what about the small, local factory's like "Indian Cap's"? I'm sure there must been more of those factory's who made these typical "flemish made" items. A lot of them were indeed made in Leopoldsburg. I don't know if you have knowledge about other makers?
