Dear Collectors, what will be the earliest date on aluminium ammo box, called Patronenkasten 34. I think I have never seen nothing earlier than 1938. Please check Your collections. Pictures of 1934, 1935, 1936, 1937 dated boxes would be great addition!

Thank You Nigromontanus! That is early box! It looks like it was attached to something or something was attached to the box. Is the closing device missing or is different than regular one? Is there tri tone camouflage under dark blue paint?Comment

Thanks for sharing! Strangely mixed camouflage pattern. It looks like top part does not match with lower part. Maybe put together at some point. Is it one piece of leather on carrying handle? Interesting! Perfect markings!

I was lucky to examine today "transitional" box. It is steel made but in shape of Patronenkasten 34. No date found. Only WaA and maker's code. Interesting is that it has aluminium carrying handle! My observations indicate that boxes like that were produced around 1941 and 1942. So it could be called "1942 Patronenkasten" 1941 also seem to be last year of making aluminium Patronenkasten 34.Comment

My today's acquisition. Steel Patronenkasten 34 dated 1940. This must be early for this type of ammo boxes. It has strange, no less original, colour inside. Kasten is also lovely described. How would You read first line? Need some help here
I would also like to find out who is the maker of this box?
