winter camo with striped helmets

I got these photos in a small album yesterday and note that the soldiers wear winter camo helmets with stripes or lines between the white areas!

in this shot it looks like the one rifle has a ZF 41 scope (in the middle)

Too bad the photos are not in color...if would be very interesting to see the color(s) of the stripes...

Just imagine how quickly helmets like this would be written off by the multitude of (even "advanced") collectors today...

Hundestaffel, I was thinking the same thing- no one would believe it but here we have photographic proof of a winter camo variant

These photos are indeed priceless to both photo collectors (especially those who specialize in winter photos) and helmet collectors alike...

As for the "X"ed man, he would indeed have been the owner of the photos / album (you can clearly see that "Mr. X' is also wearing the same Camo helmet in all the shots in which he is pictured - this most apparent in posts #1 and #3).

Years ago I owned a original period print of this photo....helmets aren't Zebra'd but the Wespe is.....
