Advertised as a breast eagle but I'm pretty sure its a cap eagle.
Its on hold for me... Good one?

I have never be happy with this pattern of eagle. I had always considered them to be reproductions. The lack of definition in the embroidery and usually a edge trim. I have never been a fan of the tapering of the wings either.

I have had to reconsider my position after I saw this pattern of eagle executed in Heer colors on the very late war cheese cloth backing and on a felt material. The second eagle is machine sewn and then has had the edge hand sewn down. I believe they are the same pattern eagle. I will try and post the shot I have.

Given that I still can't say Yay or Nay to your eagle.

After more study, the late war white embroidered enlisted man's breast eagle is a nice original to me. The lower eagle, which appears to be a Private purchase enlisted man's eagle on a dark green felt is bad to me.

The tropical eagle in the original post appears to be a reproduction eagle executed on cotton with the outer border trimmed off. It is also executed on a cotton or twill material not a cheesecloth/open weave material.
