    Hi All,

I am hoping that someone can give me an opinion on this SS stickpin as I am not very familiar with them,

    Best Regards,

Not original, imo. Runes are horrible.

How about a clearer picture of the reverse?

Impressed Hoffstatter low number and appears original.

I have to say they do look a tad un-even ...
          Regards

Dont see anything wrong with it.
Very low number for a Hoff, but otherwise
            looks OK (despite the runes!)

              Thanks all for the comments.

Here are better photos, I admit the runes look shonky but the badge is heavy and well made ???

                    Nice.

Possibly re-enamelled which may account for some loss of shape to runes.

What is interesing is that Hoffstatter had a different logo and number font on the reverse of this early stickpin.

I am posting pictures of two of mine, that show a much smaller number font, and a different raised logo. Sometime between 9649 and 13,185 and 13,376 as posted, the company made a major change to the reverse.

The difference in the runes that we expect on a Hoffstatter, as compared to this example, could be another factory modification. I see no evidence of this example being re-enameled.

                        Gary,

Those are both raised Hoffstatter marks and considered to be reproductions. The one here is impressed and early so not sure we have many early examples to compare with but those wont do us any good with their status as it is.

No way! Considered "reproductions" by who?
