Hi Luc,
I finally made it to the Archives today and found about 40+ documents on SS-Sturmbannführer Karl Rohmann. The initial e-mail I sent you regarding his death was confirmed and it appears that he died in the hospital in Bielefeld, Germany. It must have been the result of a relatively severe wound because he had the Silver Wound Badge and there are numerous articles of official correspondence regarding hospital stays and convalescing as early as March 1940 (and he died 15 Oct 40). It was actually kind of touching because there was a telegram announcing his death to the SS-Personnelamt, docs discussing the release of his body to the family, and docs discussing how the pay to his widow would be calculated.
I wish I had time to go through each doc critically as it would have given a neat look at the progression (although short) of an SS officer's career.
