As I could not find any thread so far about that event, I thought I post this here.
A almost 92 year old paratrooper vet I know very well returned last october to the 70s year anniversary held at El Alamein. Its been his 1st visit since he survived the battle in 1942.
Altogether there were app. 1500 people. 6 of them being vets: 2 germans, 1 british (scottish) and 3 italians.
1st day, a quick visit to the german cemetary, meeting the guards (placed there last year, after the start of the egypt revolution, to protect the graves).
